Flowers & Decor
Inspiration
Our mom's decided to carry mini-bouquets (like the one on the left) instead of corsages.
I love the whimsical look of branches with small candles hanging from them.
Since our wedding was the week before Christmas, our reception location was going to be decorated for the holidays. This is how the venue was decorated for Christmas of 2009, when we toured the location.

My bouquet. I was really happy with how this turned out. I thought the bright colors really stood out against my ivory dress.
This is one of two flower arrangements we had at the church. The church was very ornate, so we didn't need much additional decorations. After the ceremony we took these arrangements to the reception and reused them on the head table.
The dining room. All the wreaths and greenery on the walls were already up for the holidays at our venue.
I really wanted to do some tall centerpieces with branches and candles. I wasn't completely happy with how these turned out, however. I love having the candles hanging from the branches, but I preferred the version the florist showed me at the sample day with natural-colored branches instead of white. I also think it would have looked better without so much greenery.
I really liked how these low centerpieces turned out. I didn't want just a giant sphere of flowers. I like the ambiance added by the candles in goblets of varying heights.
Bridesmaid bouquet. I really loved the way the white flowers popped against the eggplant dresses.
The lobby where cocktail hour was held. Since our wedding was a week before Christmas, we were able to use a lot of the holiday decorations already in place at the reception.
Another style of low centerpieces. I wasn't thrilled with how they turned out. I felt like the arrangements were fuller at the sample day and that at the wedding these look kinda of skimpy.
